Detox your skin with this anti-pollution skin-care range by Deyga

When it comes to skin-care, I like to keep it uncomplicated and as natural as possible. I’ve never been one for elaborate 7-step skin care regimens - they sound so time-consuming! Although the current season does require some extra TLC for your skin - with the weather changing and pollution levels reaching an all-time high, it’s best to give your skin an occasional detox.

Deyga sent us a few of their basic skin-care products - charcoal bath soap, tea tree facial toner and aloe vera gel. Each of these are natural, cruelty-free and preservative-free. This combination of products is primarily designed to heal acne naturally, but they’re gentle enough to suit (and benefit) all skin types. Collectively and individually, the charcoal soap, tea tree toner and aloe vera gel are known to have antiseptic properties and work well for general detoxification of the skin - I suppose anyone living in metro cities (particularly Delhi/NCR where the pollution is at an all-time high right now) would benefit from an anti-pollution detox.

The charcoal bath bar leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean - this one would be ideal for people with oily skin. The tea tree facial toner is perfect to spritz on your face after a day out in the city - it removes impurities, toxins and remnants of make-up from the surface of your skin.

I have been using the charcoal soap as a bath soap, the toner on my face after a shower and the aloe vera gel whenever I feel like it, but usually soon after waking up in the morning.

While the toner and the soap definitely make your skin feel squeaky clean, Deyga’s aloe vera gel is a clear winner amongst this lot.

Pure aloe vera gel by Deyga

You can leave it on overnight or just put it on your face for a while before your shower in the morning - which is what I have been doing. It’s non-sticky and instantly makes your skin feel soft and fresh. It actually works as a great pick me up. The fascinating thing about aloe vera is that it works based on what your skin needs - if you’re suffering from acne, it will help it heal; if you have dry skin, it will moisturise it; if your skin feels dull, it will make it feel fresh and rejuvenated.

I also happened to use this when I ended up touching something that caused some sort of strange allergic reaction - my skin became red and was burning. The aloe vera gel had just come in that day and since it was in front of me I thought there was no harm trying it out. The effect was almost instant - it immediately soothed my skin and all signs of any sort of allergic reaction were miraculously gone in less than a minute - no exaggeration!

This miracle gel is as pure as it can get - all it contains is cold-pressed aloe vera extract and aloe vera hydrosol - it has a shelf life of 6 months. It’s the next best thing to using pure aloe vera from your garden. In fact, I have plenty of aloe vera plants in my garden (growing wild by the day!) but I barely ever use it on my skin - only because it’s a bit of a process to remember to cut a fresh piece of aloe vera, extract the pulp and apply it on your skin every morning. This little jar is in my bathroom, so its the most convenient thing to use for reaping the benefits of aloe vera without making any effort for it!

Deyga has a range of clean and natural skin, hair and general wellness products to choose from, depending on your skin type. You can explore their range on their website - you can also get a discount on your order when you place an order through this link. Happy shopping! :)
